2014 in Photographs

Over the last few days I have found myself reflecting on the incredible roller coaster of a year that 2014 has been for me and deeply grateful for all that has transpired.  In keeping with tradition, I am sharing my year in images with you today as I wish you all an incredible 2015!

2014 has been a year of major changes and transformation for both my family and business.  I got married to a wonderfully kind and loving man in July and together we moved our family across the Atlantic to Turks & Caicos.  This has been an incredible adventure and one that has opened up so many new doors for all of us.

My quest to master the art of photographing women has continued this year and exposed me to some amazing experiences as well as transformational work.  A young girl here in Turks & Caicos, Ryesha Higgs, blew me away with her determination and talent.  I was really excited to get my first feature in the Turks & Caicos Magazine on this inspirational story.  Most close to my heart was photographing my mother, which was such an honour to see her share her beautiful spirit in front of my lens.  I’m excited to continue this work with women here in Turks & Caicos in 2015.

While in Zambia I was fortunate to work with some very talented designers photographing their colourful garments in some fashion photography and some of these images made their way to the pages of the Bulletin & Record magazine again.  On the same trip to Zambia I spent some time in Linda Compound photographing the amazing work that Vision Zambia does over there, which always leaves me feeling so humble and grateful.

On a personal level it has been a year of much self reflection and healing on many levels.  I have spent time focusing on my health and making changes to how I live my life.  My body, soul and blood pressure are loving me for it :-)  I have started teaching yoga again here in Turks & Caicos and it is such an honour for me to share this sacred practice while learning so much from my students.

I made a conscious decision at the start of 2014 to not blog as frequently on this website and I’m so glad to have made this choice because it has allowed time and space for new things to come in.  Behind the scenes I’ve been working on something very close to my heart and 2015 will be it’s launch year.  It’s the result of the self reflection, personal growth and focus on my health.  I’ve also been taking a photograph a day of something that I’m grateful for which has been so eye opening and transformational – something I highly recommend!

Thank you so much for your continued support of my work and may 2015 be sensational for us all.
