Hello!  My name is Marisa Shearer (AKA as Findlay before I married my soul mate).  I’m a Zambian blissfully living in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos with my husband, Edward & our daughter, Yara.  A day with photography, yoga, mangoes and writing sums up happiness for me!

I have always loved photography and soon after having Yara I found the courage to start my photography business.  It was the best decision I ever made and has opened up so many new doors of joy!  It feels like with the birth of my daughter I also opened up the connection to my creativity.  It’s taught me that it’s never too late to dream big and absolutely everything that happens is for a reason.

I love the opportunity of meeting someone new, discovering their personality and then the challenge of capturing their portrait in an image.  Beauty comes from inside and I love creating a safe space for this to shine through and be captured.

I’m a wild child at heart and I love traveling between Zambia, the UK and Turks & Caicos taking photographs of people and places, camera in one hand and child in the other (well not literally, but almost). I’m a deep thinker and constantly on the look out for new knowledge that will bring more ease and peace to my life.

If you’d like to get in front of my camera or have a project that you’re working on and would like my photographic input I would love to hear from you so please get in touch.  My work has appeared in several magazine which you can see in the Media section of this site.  If you would like me to be a guest writer on your blog please contact me.

I feel there is a certain magic when the shutter clicks at the right moment, and the moments in between those moments, to capture the essence of the person.
