Hallie & Brandon | Elopement Beach Wedding | Club Med | Providenciales, Turks & Caicos
Hallie contacted me wanting a couple of hours coverage of her elopement to her college sweetheart, Brandon. They wanted a small ceremony on the beach at Club Med with just themselves and witnessed by 5 friends.
We met at Flamingo Cafe, on the beach next to Club Med, a couple of days before the wedding to give us all a chance to get to know each other a bit more. I find this helps me in documenting emotion in my images, especially if I’ve only just met someone. I also think that if I’m going to document one of the most important moments of your life I want to get to know you a little bit more first so that I’m not a stranger on the actual day. It was also a chance to go through the final details for the elopement with Keisha Delancy their wedding planner who is the Director of Destination TCI.
On the afternoon of the wedding I went to Hallie’s room at Club Med to document her getting ready and to capture some images of Shenique Higgs working her hair magic. Hallie and Brandon wanted to do a first look before the ceremony so we arranged for Brandon to wait for his beautiful bride under a pagoda. It’s the first time I’ve ever witnessed something like that and it was beautiful watching them interacting together before making such a big commitment of their love.
It was a beautiful hazy evening on the beach just an hour before sunset when the ceremony took place. The team at Destination TCI had done a beautiful job creating a circle of conch shells and bougainvillea flowers for the couple to stand inside. The flowers matched the beautiful bouquet and boutonniere made by Flowers by EA. It was a beautiful upbeat and tearful ceremony followed by a loud applause from the nearby swimmers as the bride and groom kissed
After I posted the sneak peek of their wedding on my facebook page and saw the response, it really hit home to me how important these images are to the friends and family that weren’t able to make the ceremony. I love that my journey as a photographer keeps opening up my capacity to be grateful for the things that I am able to do and share with so many people.
