Renée | Maternity Boudoir | Brighton & Hove, East Sussex
I have always been fascinated by pregnant women and if I happen to pass one on the street I can’t help but marvel at the walking form of grace that they are. So when I was pregnant with my daughter I relished the opportunity to study my pregnant form through photography and art. I welcomed the feelings of extreme contentment with my body and a loosing of inhibitions. Gone was my critical eye and in it’s place I welcomed my eye of amazement at what my body was going through. My body had become a home to nurture my growing child and I was fascinated by the various shapes and forms that it took.
When ever I get a maternity enquiry I am so grateful for the opportunity to document this amazing event in a woman’s life. I had the pleasure of doing a maternity boudoir photo shoot of Renée last week in my Hove regency studio. It was a morning of playfulness and fun. I loved using the features in the flat and the beautiful light of the day to write the story of her 33nd week of pregnancy. She has kindly allowed me to share some of these images with you here.
If you’ve been thinking of having a boudoir shoot and you’re pregnant, now could be the perfect time when your inhibitions are turned way down! It’s Valentine’s Day next week, go on, treat yourself or put a subtle hint out there for someone else to
